Clarity on tests vital

Re: “Antigen tests plan for visitors”, (BP, Nov 26).

Supposedly the need for an RT-PCR test upon arrival will be eliminated on Dec 16 and replaced with a rapid test. This should, although it is not confirmed, eliminate the requirement for a one-night stay in an SHA+ hotel and the associated tests and expenses.

As one needs to apply for the pass at least seven days prior to their travel date, many of those arriving after the change will apply prior to Dec 16.

Will anyone applying prior to that date have to submit confirmation of an SHA+ reservation? This may all be moot as Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has not yet confirmed the elimination of the SHA+ stay under the new regulations.

A little clarity would be appreciated as this will affect the travel plans of many.
